Personal Care Support in Logan You Can Trust

Personal care is the support most people put off asking for. Showering, dressing, using the bathroom, getting out of bed in the morning — these are private parts of life, and handing any of them to someone new takes real trust. Aussie Bridge Care has been delivering that support across Logan for more than 20 years, since before the scheme was called the NDIS. We are a registered NDIS provider (registration 432017995), and our Logan support workers live here: Beenleigh, Woodridge, Springwood, Browns Plains, Marsden. They are not driving in from the city and arriving late.

What Is Personal Care Support?

Personal care is hands-on help with the everyday tasks of looking after your own body: washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and moving safely from one place to another. In NDIS language these are sometimes called "activities of daily living", and they sit inside your Core Supports budget, usually under Assistance with Daily Life or Assistance with Self-Care Activities.

It is not medical care and it is not housekeeping, although the same worker may do a load of washing or prompt your medication while they are there. The point of personal care is narrower and more important than either: it is the support that makes it possible to live in your own home instead of somewhere that comes with a roster of strangers.

Personal care in Logan generally suits:

Our Personal Care Services in Logan

Every roster is built around what you actually need help with, and nothing else. These are the supports our Logan participants use most.

Bathing and Showering Assistance

Support in the shower or bath, from standing by in case you need a hand through to full assistance with washing, drying and skin checks. You tell us your routine, your products, and whether you want a male or female worker. That preference is recorded in your care plan and it is honoured, including when a backup worker covers a shift.

Dressing and Grooming Support

Help getting dressed, managing fastenings, putting on compression garments, applying skincare, shaving, hair and nail care. Small things that decide whether you leave the house feeling like yourself.

Toileting and Continence Care

Discreet support with toileting, continence aids and pad changes, catheter and stoma routines where these sit inside a support worker's scope, and prompt personal hygiene afterwards. Where the task needs clinical oversight, our community nursing team in Logan takes it on rather than stretching a support worker past their training.

Mobility and Transfer Assistance

Getting out of bed, moving between bed, chair and shower, and using hoists, slide sheets, walkers or wheelchairs safely. Every Logan worker is trained in manual handling, and for participants who need two workers on a transfer, we roster two.

Medication Prompting and Reminders

Reminders at the right time, help opening dosette packs, watching that a dose has actually been taken, and flagging to your coordinator when something is missed or running low. Support workers prompt and assist; administration of medication is a nursing task and is handled that way.

Meal Preparation and Mealtime Assistance

Shopping, cooking, portioning and support at the table, including assistance with eating and drinking. Where you have a mealtime management plan or a dietitian-set texture requirement, our workers follow it as written.

Overnight and 24/7 Personal Care

Sleepover shifts where a worker stays overnight and is woken for specific tasks, active overnight where the worker stays awake, and multiple visits a day where that suits better. If your needs are substantial and constant, the funding pathway is often Supported Independent Living rather than standard personal care, and we will tell you that plainly.

Respite Personal Care

When a family carer needs a break, we step into the same routine rather than starting from scratch. Short blocks, regular weekly relief, or longer stretches while a carer is away.

You pay from your plan rather than out of pocket, and we will walk through the exact line items with you before you sign anything.
